Pros and cons of Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil app for iPhone and iPad

Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil app good for

Once again Playdeck nails it. Not only did they do a fantastic job of creating the card game in digital format. But they included all their normal play modes and just gave the app some life. Seeing how well Playdeck translated this game makes it all the more depressing with what happened with Dominion.
One of the best game of Playdek since Ascension...2 thumbs up+++++
Playdek + PA = Perfect Team. Truely a masterpiece deck building game.
This game is awesome. Highly addicting right off the bat. This company seems to have perfected async play (also a Fluxx owner).
Deck building games often seem like theyre fairly difficult to learn. With currency systems and powers at play it can all be a bit overwhelming. However thats simply not the case with this game, one tutorial round and youll definitely understand all the mechanics at play. The game is quick and rounds last about 20 minutes or so. I wouldnt say this game has the most depth Ive ever seen, but Im still feeling it out. Either way, if you like card games or the PA license, this is worth a look.
I buy lots of card games, and end up playing next to none of them. Magic has been the main game for me, and I think that was due to the fact that Ive been playing it since the 90s when I was younger and apparently able to learn things. However with that said, this game has, along win Fluxx, changed my entire opinion on card games in general. Theyve made some games here that are simply amazing. This game was fairly easy to learn (although I wish there was a way to actively track your VP, if there is I havent figured it out) and has been a blast to play. No, its not deep. No there are no expansions. But with all those issues, even with it getting a slight bit repetitive after a fair many games, its STILL incredibly fun and an easy game to get into. One of the most accessible card games to ever hit the App Store for sure! But dont expect this to fill the screen of the iPhone 5 or current iPod touch, thats my biggest issue, and for that to be my biggest issue, ill live with it :)

Some bad moments

This requires iPod software version more recent than 4.2.1 to install, so despite the claims here, this is NOT compatible with iPod Touch second generation. Hopefully they will rectify this soon.
After hearing good things, I gave this a try, and I was left underwhelmed given other deck building games. Gameplay is uninteresting as the cards really dont play off each other, so the player is left with uninteresting choices. I found myself just hitting the "play all" button and grabbing power cards. Not very fun. If youre looking for a deck building game, go with Ascension or Nightfall. I suspect that its only the PA brand that is carrying this app, not the gameplay.
The right mix of challenge and humor. It needs more cards to earn the 5th star.
Good game, too back either the timer works incorrectly or people can hack the game. Just lost a game while my timer ran for both players turns. FAIR!!!
This is a perfect port of the card game made by cryptozoic. I am eagerly awaiting the expansion "Rumble in Ryleth" however I am unsure as to how they will squeeze gold cards into the already packed UI. My only disappointment is that the fruit fer promo boss was not included with the purchase. Maybe its due to rating but its sorely missed from the game.
Very easy to learn, and the variety of cards ensures lots of replayablilty. Penny Arcade humor may not be for everyone, but the game mechanics are solid enough to overlook it if youre not a PA fan.
